I am graduated from Penn State University in Industrial Engineering in 2017. I've tutored ever since I was in high school, and I love helping people! I like to help my students understand math (and other topics) instead of just doing it blindly. My goal is to help my students improve their math (and other topics) and build skills that will help them find learning easier in the future! Fun fact, I used to work for Disney and I like to salsa dance!

I am a UCF graduate Summa Cum Laude with a 4.0 GPA! I graduated with a degree in Health Sciences Pre-Clinical. I am currently in the middle of applying to medical school. I am here to help and have previous tutor experience! I was a Supplemental Instruction leader at UCF, where I instructed students on General Chemistry and Organic Chemistry. Although I primarily have tutored at the collegiate level, I feel comfortable teaching at both undergraduate and primary school levels. I feel more comfortable in STEM courses but can tutor English and ACT Reading as well.
I'm currently a second-degree seeking student at UCF for accounting. I can tutor in algebra and teach beginning violin/viola/piano. I wish to help kids who may be struggling in math, and help them see that it can be a very fun subject. I'm also very passionate about music, I've been playing the violin since I was 5, and I wish to pass on the excitement of playing an instrument to other kids. Music is something I've grown up with and continue to appreciate having in my life, and I hope that I can influence someone else to have that in their life as well.
I am currently a senior in the Honors program, on track to graduate summa cum laude, and approaching completion of an undergraduate thesis on my work in the university's nanotechnology lab.

During my studies, I've built a strong foundation in subjects such as management, leadership, business strategy, communication, and analytical problem-solving. I've gained hands-on experience through jobs at Lockheed Martin and The Bank of New York, where I learned to break down complex ideas, stay organized, and adapt to different learning styles. I've also led and taught others through various leadership roles, coached students, and guided teams through exams and competitions. My tutoring style is patient, clear, and goal-oriented. I am graduate of the Technological Institute of Merida, in Mexico where I received my bachelor in Computer Science. Since graduation I got married and move to live to Orlando, Florida in the US where I attended Valencia College to obtain my Professional Educators Certificate from the state of Florida. Later on, I obtained my masters in Curriculum and Instruction with Bilingual Specialization from the American College of Education. I was very active with the Parents Leadership Councils formed by parents of students who speak other languages than English. I have traveled to places such as San Jose, California to participate in a Bilingual Conference for Educators. I started my career as a middle and high school math teacher in Mexico, but fell in love teaching elementary and middle grades students in Florida. I am passionate about teaching in general, but math is my strong suit. I have taught second and third grades, the whole curriculum, fourth and fifth grade math and science, first trough fifth grades remediation math, and briefly Algebra 1 in ninth grade. I have tutored students in math and reading in grades 2nd through 5th at school site and middle school math at home. I have enjoyed the same tutoring students that struggle with math as well as the ones who wanted enrichment. I try to instill the love for learning and the love for math in my students.
I am a senior at Rollins College and have my IB diploma from high school. I did TOK, HLs: Psych, Econ, language and literature, and SLs: Spanish, biology, and mathematical studies. I prefer psych, econ, business, and anything English or literature related. I can do paper revisions, essay help, reading comprehension, elementary/middle/high school math. I would prefer more basic math and science, can help with reading and writing in Spanish, and am up for anything.
I am excited to support and guide you while you rock your way to meeting your learning goals! I have a degree in Chemical Engineering and I am a certified Chemistry and Mathematics Teacher as well and I am fluent in Arabic, too! My journey of teaching started at 10 years ago while tutoring my friends at college. After that, I pursued a degree in Engineering. My passion at education grew and I enrolled in an Education program that will help me teache in the state of Florida. I have worked in a classroom setting and online for over 5 years now. Because of this, I am aware of students' needs, struggles and the ways to help them grow and succeed. Thank you for reading my statement and looking forward to sharing more about it with you!
I am interested in the field of Science as I am studying to be a dentist! I enjoy going on dental mission trips on my breaks from school as well as spending time with my family.
I am a graduate of Seminole State College, from which I received my Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technology with an emphasis on drafting and design; along with a Technical Certificate in Computer Aided Design (CAD). I am currently a drafter in a structural engineering company. Additionally, I am also a pastor. As a pastor I teach children, ranging from K-thru 12 and offer tutoring. I also teach adults as well. I have always enjoyed teaching, that is probably due to the fact that I was raised by a teacher. The thing about teaching I am most passionate about is breaking down complex topics into smaller or "bite-size pieces. I like to see the "light bulb moment" when it begins to make sense to them. I often will use abstract objects within our immediate surroundings to illustrate a topic or concept in a fun way. This tactile understanding tends to be invaluable, as students are able to replicate the illustration themselves whenever they need to understand the concept again. I tutor English, Earth Science or Geography, Spanish and Autodesk softwares CAD and Revit

Frequently Asked Questions
Elementary students often struggle with foundational skills in reading, math, and writing—areas that directly impact success in later grades. Many students also face challenges with focus and organization, especially as classroom sizes in the Orlando area average 16.9 students per teacher. Personalized 1-on-1 instruction helps address these gaps by allowing tutors to target specific skill deficits and adapt pacing to each student's learning style.
The first session focuses on building rapport and understanding your child's current level, learning style, and specific challenges. Tutors will assess foundational skills in key areas like reading fluency, math concepts, and writing to create a personalized plan. This diagnostic approach ensures that subsequent sessions target exactly what your student needs to improve.
Varsity Tutors connects you with tutors who understand Florida's education standards and the specific curriculum used across Orlando's school districts. Tutors can reinforce concepts being taught in the classroom, fill knowledge gaps, and prepare students for upcoming units—all while working at a pace that matches your child's readiness. This alignment ensures tutoring complements, rather than duplicates, classroom instruction.
Reading and writing are foundational skills that affect performance across all subjects. Tutors use research-backed strategies like guided reading practice, phonics instruction, and writing scaffolds to build confidence and competence. With personalized attention, students can work through decoding challenges, develop comprehension strategies, and gain fluency—all at their own pace.
Math builds sequentially, meaning gaps in early concepts (like number sense or basic operations) create challenges in later grades. Personalized tutoring allows tutors to identify exactly where understanding breaks down and rebuild foundational skills before moving forward. This targeted approach prevents students from falling further behind and builds the confidence needed to tackle more complex concepts.
Yes, tutors can support homework completion while teaching problem-solving strategies and independent learning skills. Beyond homework help, tutors prepare students for unit tests and standardized assessments by reviewing key concepts, practicing test formats, and building test-taking confidence. This dual approach ensures your child understands material rather than simply completing assignments.
Varsity Tutors connects you with tutors who have expertise in elementary subjects and understand child development and learning differences. Many tutors have teaching backgrounds, subject-matter expertise, or specialized training in reading intervention and math instruction. All tutors are vetted to ensure they can create engaging, effective learning experiences for elementary students.
Many students show noticeable improvement in focus, confidence, and understanding within 4-6 weeks of consistent tutoring. More significant academic gains—like improved test scores or reading level advancement—typically emerge over a semester of regular sessions. Progress depends on the specific challenge, session frequency, and how consistently your child engages with tutoring.
