The Best Habit for Success! by Brea - February 2026 Scholarship Essay
I can without a doubt say that the best small habit that has made a big difference in my academic and personal success would have to be having my daily devotions as a Christian woman. I have a very strong faith. I know the importance of spending time each day reading my Bible and praying. I have been raised in church my entire life by two loving parents. My dad is the pastor of a Nazarene Church. I say this not to make anyone think that I have been forced to attend church my entire life. I have chosen to attend church and have a relationship with Jesus. My relationship with Jesus has made all the difference in my life's choices and circumstances. I work hard each day to make decisions that would please God. I have a lot of friends who know where I stand in my faith. I have also had the opportunity to take many friends to church with me.
As I prepare for college this Fall 2026, I am so excited to be attending the largest Christian school in the United States. I have known my entire life that I would be attending a Christian college, but once I visited Liberty University, I just knew that was where I wanted to be for the next four years of my life. I want to be surrounded each day with like-minded friends who love Jesus as much as I do. I know that my faith will continue to bless me as I make decisions in college just like I have blessed through my high school years. I know that I will receive a great education where each class is started with prayer by the professor or the students.
This small habit that I have developed at a very young age has brought me to where I am now. I know that my faith and relationship with Jesus has provided me the amazing life that I have lived so far and this same faith will guide me in all of my future decisions. As this essay is read, I hope that the person who gets to judge this truly understands how important my habit of a daily relationship with Jesus is. I hope that anyone who ever meets me will see the difference in my life because of my small habit of being faithful each day in my devotional life with Jesus.
