Tutoring review by Rudy in Norwalk, CT
The student primarily had questions on indefinite integrals and Reimann sums.  He had notes and practice problems from his professor and we went over them. This was a special holiday tutoring session while the client was home for the break. Overall, he did well and had questions about clarifications about some of the concepts or approaches to the problems.

We had another productive session today. The student is improving his reading comprehension by leaps and bounds. The main issue, at this point, is getting him to slow down. If he finishes with plenty of extra time, while making plenty of simple errors, then we obviously need to work out a method he can use to pace himself.

Tutoring review by Sujana in Norwalk, CT
The student and I worked through several problems about the perimeter and area of regular problems (for an upcoming geometry test). We also went over her chemistry pre-lab and discussed the concept of equilibrium. We spent a lot of time discussing Le Chatlier's principle and the impact of adding/removing reactants/products or changing the temperature. Finally we began to review for her upcoming history test and discussed the causes and early events of the Russian revolution.

The student worked through the homework for section 17.3 today. He found the critical points for functions of more than one variable, and he was able to classify them as local minima, local maxima, or saddle points.  We also discussed strategies for solving systems of equations that sometimes result when searching for the zeroes of the first partial derivatives.

We worked on several of his previous assignments together today. We discussed the various relationships commonly found in analogies, and the student completed a practice section, verbalizing a sentence for each relationship. We discussed the importance of knowing word parts to deal with difficult vocabulary. He will work on memorizing words parts on his own this week. Finally, we discussed reading comprehension strategies. We will do more with this skill throughout the remainder of the week. He was given assignments to practice in all areas before tomorrow's meeting.

Tutoring review by Cydnee in Norwalk, CT
During this session, the student and I finished covering the remainder of the assessment English skills that would be tested. We also went through the rest of the English test, dissecting each question that was incorrect. Then, we discussed the skills necessary for the reading portion of the test. I think that she will perform fairly well on the test. She just needs to stop second-guessing herself, and go with her first instincts.
