Hello my anme is ailen guttierrez i currently attend hug high school being in my senior year , I am applying for this scholarship because I truly need help paying for school and continuing my education. I have been working for a while to support myself, but balancing work and school has been difficult, especially as I focus on graduating and planning my future. This scholarship would help me stress less about money and focus more on my goals.

My parents came from Mexico with very little and worked hard to give my family a better life. They have always supported me and my brothers, even when things have been challenging. Seeing everything they have done for us motivates me to want more for myself and to become someone who can give back and make them proud.

With the financial challenges many families are facing in 2026, money has become even tighter for my family. Receiving this scholarship would help take some pressure off my parents and allow me to continue working toward my dreams. This support would mean a lot to me and would help me move forward in my education.

One time I helped someone in a meaningful way was when a classmate of mine was really struggling with a big assignment. They didn’t understand what the teacher was asking and were getting really stressed out about it. I offered to stay after school and help them go through the assignment step by step. We read the directions together and worked through the questions until they started to understand it better. By the end, they felt a lot more confident and said they felt way less stressed about finishing it.

From that experience, I learned that I’m a patient person and that I actually enjoy helping others when they need support. It also showed me that helping someone doesn’t have to be something huge to matter. Sometimes just taking the time to explain something or be there for someone can make a big difference. Seeing how much it helped my classmate made me feel proud and reminded me how important it is to support the people around you.

That experience helped me realize that I want to keep helping others in the future. Whether it’s at school, in my community, or in my future career, I want to be someone who helps people feel supported and encouraged. Small acts of kindness can really impact someone’s day, and that’s something I want to continue doing.
