My success depends on your success! So many times it is difficult to find the right place to start. Let's start with the basics. Many students begin to think "I just don't get it!," or "I can't do it!" They mentally block their chances to learn. In reality, frustration controls your thought process and you simply give up. Most of the time, I discover that my students are missing the basic steps from an earlier lesson that can help them find the answer. Once we uncover what we don't know, we can begin to understand what we need to know. As your tutor, we will break each lesson down into a series of small steps to help you understand the concept and not to simply find the answer and move on. We will work together to help you store each step in your memory, practice, and then solve. Once you begin to feel confident and solve on your own by a series of small steps, what used to be difficult will become easy!

I have a diverse background of experience in teaching and leadership across secondary and higher education. Upon completing my Bachelor's degree, I worked as an undergraduate admissions recruiter, and then an Academic Advisor for teacher education programs. Post completion of my Master's degree, I had the opportunity to teach high school ELA at a charter school in New Jersey, before transitioning to a community college in 2018.Since then, I have worked with students in both student services and the classroom. As a leader in the Enrollment, I supervised and supported a staff of Enrollment Advisors who guided students through the entirety of the enrollment process (admissions, financial aid, residency, transcripts/records, and graduation). Now, as a faculty member, I am privileged to assist beginning college students with developing academic reading and writing skills through Freshman Composition coursework. In addition to these roles, I have also made the decision to return to graduate school and focus on completing a Doctorate of Education (Ed.D.) in Curriculum & Instruction. Some of my research interests include male literacy, masculinity in schools, increasing achievement for first-generation students, and English/language arts teacher preparation.

Hello, my name is Kelsey and I am a tutor for Chemistry and Algebra. I graduated from the University of Northern Colorado with a degree in Chemistry, and I tutored for 2.5 years while I was there. I was encouraged to try tutoring by a former Chemistry professor of mine, and I found I very much enjoyed it. Being employed by a university allowed me to work with students of all ages, from students fresh out of high school to students who decided to go back to school much later in life. It helped me discover a multitude of different learning styles and how to communicate to a wide breadth of individuals.Outside of work, I enjoy running and going to the beach! I moved to Florida in early January, and I absolutely love this sunshine state. Tutoring is a great way for me to keep up to date with what I learned in school, and I love it. I am flexible with scheduling and meeting locations. I am here to serve students and help them in as much capacity as I can. I look forward to working with you!

I am a graduate of the Mico Teacher College and the University of the West Indies in Jamaica. I hold a bachelor's degree in science and a master's degree in Education Administration. I migrated from Jamaica to the United States in 2017 where I taught science to 7th and 8th grade students. It is my belief that every student can learn if provided with the right environment and the right tutor. As a science teacher, I like to conduct experiments, I try to break down complex concepts to make them simpler for my students and I also encourage my students to be curious and have respect for the natural world. Over the years, I have helped students prepare for statewide science assessment during after school tutoring. I have also helped students with STEM projects for example building a water bottle rockets and numerous other experiments like egg drop projects. In my spear time, I enjoy spending quality time with my 8-year-old daughter, watching movie and reading.

I am a current university student with a passion for academics that I would love to share with students!I prioritize catering to a student's learning style that might not be satisfied in their current classroom environment. Their understanding and progress comes first, as it is my job to be a supplemental resource for them to obtain their goals.I have a strong belief that any student can master any topic with the right help and mindset. I always aim for my students to grasp the concept as a whole, rather than just the problem set in front of us. This ensures that they have a detailed understanding that can be applied to any problem they might come across on an exam, and that they can carry with them beyond their time with me!

I am a Business and Economics major from a US and Peruvian university, hence, I'm bilingual. Since I was in school I have tutored my fellow students as well as the ones in lower grades. I have also tutored middle school math in the US.My approach to tutoring is based on coaching and mindfulness. Students need to be encouraged and supported during their learning in an understanding and empathic way. This way students will learn the content and the skill they need to succeed and in turn, I learn how to be a better tutor.I strongly believe that learning should be fun. That is why my teaching approach involves teaching content as well as teaching learning skills. All students are different, so should teaching.
