I am passionate about helping others to understand different areas of math, science, and english. I am also familiar with the college application process, as I am a current 3rd year at The Ohio State University studying Biology. I was a TA for introductory biology at OSU as well as a tutor for UPchieve in areas of math and science. I have also researched in Dr. Coppola's cancer biology lab and Dr. Wysocki's proteomics lab, both at Ohio State.

I am a college graduate with a degree in chemistry. In pursuit of my degree I have become knowledgeable about a variety of subjects such as algebra, calculus, physics, and all things chemistry. In college I found out how I learned best and recognized that all people are different in how they learn and study.Recognizing that all people are different is important to my approach to tutoring because what works for some won't work for others. In addition to my experience working with other people in college, I worked as a supervisor at an overnight summer camp. In that time I had one on one instruction with hundreds of campers all from different backgrounds to teach a variety of skills.

I have been an active learner all my life. It is not just the formal learning that counts, but informal as well including reading, traveling, meeting new people, and trying new things, all of which enrich our lives. I have always been a strong advocate for education, because, I believe, it is the best way to explore the world and find one's place in it.I am a published writer of fiction and poetry and I am currently writing a screenplay for a feature length film. I founded and run a literary and art magazine called The Literati Quarterly. I have been fortunate enough to serve in the United States Air Force where I acquired Russian linguist training and the US Army National Guard where I acquired French linguist training. I look forward to putting not only my life experience to your service but also my passion to learn and teach.

I graduated from the University of Iowa in 2018 as an Honors English major in the creative writing track with minors in French and art history. I'm also a recent graduate of the Columbia Publishing Course. As someone who works in publishing, the written word is my life. I'm passionate about giving my students the skills they need to tell their own stories in the ways they want to tell them. I have years of writing experience in workshop classes and literary reviews, in addition to my volunteer experience in teaching English as a second language (ESL). In college, I volunteered at my university's international student conversation practicum. When I got to Boston, I completed a month-long training to teach English at the Boston Chinatown Neighborhood Center. My teaching style is focused on empathy and communication, while always finding ways to have fun.

I have tutored since high school, where I began tutoring junior high students in math. Since then, I have helped students (including medical students doing hospital rotations) succeed in academics. I have improved a lot in my teaching methods and make each session high energy and interactive.Most recently I did a pediatrics internship at UCSF-Fresno, but with my background in the biotechnology industry, I'd like to go back into research. I enjoy math almost as much as Biology/Medicine and am willing to teach most math topics through Calculus in addition to the SAT, Biology, Physiology, and the MCAT.

In Chicago I went on a quest to find the best "Chicago style hot dog" and ate more than anyone should in their lifetime. I can tell you all about how I waited in line for five hours at one place...I like to make learning fun, and I hope you want to do the same. I have tutored elementary school-aged students in reading and math and was a mentor for incoming freshmen at IIT. I was able to take a group of 6-12 freshmen on tours of Chicago while teaching them the importance of sketching and assisting with any other subjects with which they needed guidance.
