Hi there! I have over 4 years of experience teaching and tutoring students from ages 5 to 65. My areas of expertise include elementary school reading and math, K-12 science, ACT, SAT, and IB test prep, and MCAT prep, especially reading and biology sections.After graduating from the University of Minnesota in 2009 with a B.A. in Theatre and minor in Public Health, I taught English to K-6 students in Seoul, South Korea for two years. I served for a summer as an AmeriCorps Summer Reads VISTA, tutoring K-3 students in elementary literacy. I've also taught ESL to adult immigrants in Minneapolis for three summers, and am ESL certified through the Minnesota Literacy Council.I'm currently applying to medical school, and enjoy spending time with family and friends.

I'm a student at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis studying for my BA in Mathematics with a minor in Computer Science, and I am expecting to graduate in May 2018. I've been tutoring mathematics in various places since 2015, including Mathnasium: The Math Learning Center in Plymouth, MN.I loved tutoring as soon as I started doing it for the first time, because I love the subject of math and the difference I can make for people in their classes. School can be stressful, so it's a great feeling to help a student overcome a difficult problem or concept. My philosophy towards learning is never give up. We all can learn something new! I graduated from Hinsdale Central High School in 2012, and there I was a member of the National Honors Society which was my first experience with tutoring. I am currently a volunteer at the University of Minnesota Masonic Children's Hospital, and I help patients and siblings with homework and reading there, as well.I am passionate about the life sciences and the French language, and I love helping others foster a deeper understanding in these two particular subjects! I also genuinely enjoy algebra and statistics and am quite the grammarian. From preschool to college, I actually loved going to school every day and learning, and I hope to bring that love to others, also! I spent the fall of 2014 in Montpellier, France, and there I worked on mastering the French language. When I am not studying, you can find me doing a puzzle, baking, reading, going for a walk, or watching the Blackhawks and the White Sox.
