I am a recent graduate of Sam Houston State University. As an undergraduate, I was a teaching assistant responsible for teaching chemistry and microbiology labs. I believe each student is an individual and I adjust my tutoring style based on what works best for each individual. For example one child may benefit from visual learning while another student may learn best from a more hands on approach such as practice problems. I love helping students understand a concept that they previously struggled with. It gives you a good feeling to know that you have helped and could possibly have an impact on this child's or teenager's education experience. I absolutely love animals. I read in my spare time. I am a senior at The University of Texas at San Antonio working toward a Bachelors Degree in Computer Science. Last summer I was a camp counselor where I supervised children and led engaging activities for the children. In my experience working with children, I like to give an engaging lesson where the student has ample opportunities to get their hands dirty with each subject. I am most passionate about Math and Math related courses. I firmly believe that the education students receive will set them up for great success, and I aim to convey to my students the practical applications of the curriculum taught. In my spare time I like to produce music, build model kits, and do homemade crafts.

I am a graduate of the University of Florida with a B.S. in Microbiology and Cell Science. I have tutored students for over a year in test prep, math, and science. I love working with individuals and watching them flourish and succeed. I have experience with students from high school through college, and am always ready to help!In addition to tutoring and helping students succeed, I love to be outdoors, go hiking, and long walks by the beach.

I earned my Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Texas at Arlington and Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Texas at Tyler. While pursuing my undergraduate education, I became passionate about tutoring younger nursing students and carried my joy of knowledge sharing through being a preceptor in my career as a nurse. Since graduating, I was a cardiac RN for two years, where I encouraged others on my unit to form a study group to pursue a national certification with me. I then practiced as an ICU nurse for four years, during which I balanced working and school online to pursue my master's degree. Most recently, I have been loving my role as a Family Nurse Practitioner for the past two years. I tutor AANP, NCLEX and professional certification prep, as well as pharmacology and science. I truly believe education can be enjoyable and is often better retained when it's funny or quirky! Anyone can have education adapted to where they are, if they're willing to put in the work, and education is powerful.

I'm a biomedical engineering student and undergraduate researcher at Texas A&M University working towards a Bachelor of Science degree. For as long as I can remember, I've always had a passion for learning. In high school, I challenged myself by taking as many AP exams as possible. Doing so not only shaped my love of education but also challenged me to become a self-taught learner. Using what I learned from AP exam preparation allowed me to become a National Merit Finalist, two-time National AP Scholar, and valedictorian of my graduating class of over 600 students. While my favorite subjects to tutor are high school-level and engineering calculus, I am happy to tutor in a range of subjects, including all-around ACT preparation, high school and college math, chemistry, physics, and world history. By tutoring, I hope to share my passion for learning while also providing students with the tools they need to succeed.

I've been teaching French in various settings for the past four years, and I'm currently getting my PhD in French Linguistics. I've taught and tutored all ages and all kinds of students, and I particularly enjoy teaching conversational French to people preparing to travel. I believe language learning is the most fun kind of learning, and I make sure that learning French is an enjoyable experience for my students. A lot of people are intimidated by the challenge of learning a new language, even though they already learned one when they were just a baby! I've seen time and again how when languages are taught properly, learning them goes from intimidating to exciting and fun. If you're feeling challenged by French, I can give you the guidance you need to make faster progress than you thought possible.

I grew up in a small town in Maryland and obtained my degree in chemistry at the University of Maryland in College Park. Shortly after graduation, I moved to Houston to attend graduate school at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. I obtained my Ph.D. degree in 2008 and have been doing research at MD Anderson Cancer Center since that time. I have always been interested in helping students master science and math. I tutored chemistry as an undergraduate and more recently have worked with high school students in a variety of math and science subjects. I always strive to set goals with the student and plan a path to meet those goals. Additionally, I always encourage students, especially young children, to be inquisitive and develop an interest in science. There is nothing more rewarding than watching a student have an "ah-ha" moment when the material makes sense to them. In my spare time, I enjoy volunteering with a no-kill animal rescue in Houston and spending time with my family.
