Tutoring review by Judy in Indian Head, MD
First we worked on the student's homework. She is reasonably sure of herself with the new material on angle measurements, and had no trouble doing the assignment. We played a game to reinforce her multiplication facts. She is going to try to "beat the clock" tomorrow night with her multiplication facts up through "5's". We spent the remaining time on the problems from the assessment. Her mother has printed a copy of the math portion of the test. We plan to work some of these problems each night.

Tutoring review by Lucas in Indian Head, MD
The student and I met tonight for a long session to prepare him for his pre-calculus and chemistry tests tomorrow. We started by reviewing the student's plan-book, to make sure he had been staying up to date with his past assignments. We spent a lot of time on chemistry, which included corrections from his practice test, going over 2 study guides, and completing a lab assignment that also served as a study tool. We then worked through his math homework and did additional review.

Tutoring review by Kent in Indian Head, MD
We reviewed his homework, which was about finding the values of missing angles. We talked about how to approach these specific problems (opposite angles are equal, writing out what he knows as an equation), and actually ended up spending a lot of time going over solving the algebraic equations that the geometry problems reduce to. He seemed to get the concepts down once we were clear about what degrees and angles represent, it's more a matter of practicing the rote algebra aspects.

Tutoring review by Alexandra in Indian Head, MD
The student missed a few days of school, so rather than doing chem today he worked on his homework and got him up to speed on what's going on in his geometry class. As far as I can tell, he is pretty good at geometry and has no issues logically working through the proofs that he has to write for each problem. We went over a few quick rules to improve his accuracy, but he picked up everything really fast and he easily finished his 4 assignments in the hour and half we worked together. I think he and I are going to get along very well, and I look forward to working with him more!

We reviewed cell transport (passive and active) and cell structures and functions. The student was very positive and confident during the session. She seems very well prepared for her upcoming test. We used verbal questioning primarily during this session.
