I am a graduate of St. Edward's University in Austin, Texas. I received my Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in Psychology. I am applying to medical school this summer. I have three years of experience teaching Chemistry and Biology to undergraduates as a Supplemental Instruction Leader and Teaching Assistant in a upper divisions Cell Biology Laboratory. I am passionate about teaching science, especially Acid Base Chemistry, Metabolism, and Molecular Biology. I've been teaching French in various settings for the past four years, and I'm currently getting my PhD in French Linguistics. Even as a kid, I've always enjoyed solving puzzles and games. So, learning math was a way to apply my problem-solving talent and my love of logic.I'd say, I first realized I also had a passion for TEACHING math during my experience as a graduate teaching assistant. Thus, after finishing college, I'd often teach math as an adjunct professor. Eventually, I decided to go all in, and I taught math at a high school in Washington D.C. for a couple of years. I followed that up by teaching at a community college in the D.C. area for over a year.After that, I moved from D.C. to the Dallas Fort-Worth area (where I still reside), and took a short break from teaching.But the teaching bug wouldn't go away. So, in 2010, I returned to the academic world, and I obtained a full-time Math Instructor position at Tarrant County College here in DFW, and worked there for 10 years, where I grew both personally and professionally.One of my strengths is my communication skills, and over the years I worked hard to hone many of my explanations, to make them as clear and concise as I think I can.Some of the compliments that I've received from students I taught and tutored is that I'm patient, detail-oriented, and enthusiastic.
