I'm a senior at Brown University in the Program of Liberal Medical Education (PLME). I have over three years of experience working with college application consulting with a specialty in BS/MD programs and experience in tutoring with the SAT, having scored a 2400. I'm excited to work with you and your family on making the most out of the time you have to prepare for test taking, and am also open to conversations about the university application experience.

I am currently a student at Brown University seeking a degree in molecular biophysics. I love studying physics and its many applications in the realms of the life sciences. I have a strange penchant for ultimate frisbee and anything that involves golf (mini golf, frisbee golf, actual golf, etc.). One can often find me at Clark Park or Walnut Greens trying to shoot for par or die trying.

I'm an electrical engineering major at Brown University with interests in neuroscience, linguistics, and robotics, among other things. I've always loved learning, and my curiosity has led me through numerous subject areas. I constantly seek to apply my classroom learning in practical situations. For example, I have conducted research on dementia using electrophysiology in a mollusk model. I participate in hackathons and robotics challenges that test not only my programming ability but also my hardware skills as a tinkerer. My engineering pursuits require a strong foundation in mathematics, my interest in the life sciences calls for a myriad of memorization techniques, and my participation in the academic world at large reminds me daily of the importance of sharp writing skills. I hope to share some of these things, both content and technique, with my students. Though I will make sure that they can come away from each session armed with the skills needed to take on the modern education system, I also hope that they will take with them some appreciation for learning itself.

I am about to graduate from Brown University with a B.A. in Education Studies. I love working with students one-on-one and helping them feel like they can tackle challenging material. In the past I have tutored elementary school students in English and Math, middle school students in English as a second language, and helped peers in an informal context. My experiences teaching visual art and dance classes have also helped me develop creative and engaging ways to present information. While I tutor many different subjects, I am particularly excited about working with students on writing and French. I have studied French for 11 years and lived abroad in a Francophone country, and I am a total geek when it comes to French grammar. Similarly, I love playing with and examining the English language, whether in preparation for the reading section of a Standardized Test or for a college essay. I believe that students learn best when they are able to uncover the "why," not just the "what," and it is my goal to create an environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. In my free time, I enjoy making pottery, swing dancing, and experimenting in the kitchen.

I am currently a neuroscience PhD student at Columbia University. I majored in English and Psychology from Brown University, with a 4.0 and honours in Psychology. Following this, I worked at a lab at UPenn for three years, slowly transitioning to software engineering and computational neuroscience.

I am a student at Brown University, where I am pursuing a Bachelor of Science in psychology. I employ a student-centered approach to tutoring, grounding the session in the student's knowledge of what topics it would be most beneficial to review. I typically begin a session by asking a student if there is any material they have learned since the previous session whose reasoning they would like for me to walk them through. I then help the student work through problems or questions that employ that understanding. My favorite subject to tutor is math; I love helping students understand the logic of a subject in which they may have been relying for years on memorization. I have been tutoring since 2016, and I have experience teaching math, science, language arts, history, French, and study skills to students in elementary, middle, and high school. I currently focus on math (pre-algebra, algebra, geometry), English, test prep, and essay writing.

I am an undergraduate at Brown University concentrating in Education and American Studies. I have experience working with elementary, middle, and high school students as a tutor in individual learning environments. I have also worked as a museum educator and a camp counselor. My goal is to help students by engaging them in their learning, setting challenges, and empowering them succeed. My passion is working with students until the "aha!" moment when students know how to solve a difficult problem. I am a professional writer, editor, and teacher with a range of experience leading classes on writing and working with high-school and college-level students to improve their essay-writing and test-taking skills. I am eager to work with students in middle school, high school, or college to improve their reading comprehension and critical writing skills, assist with standardized test prep (ACT, SAT, GRE), provide guidance on college application essays, and teach a wide range of subjects in the humanities and social sciences. I am a diligent, patient, and personable teacher who is skilled at addressing students' challenges with writing at every level of the process, from effectively organizing thoughts and structuring an essay to developing a persuasive argument and ensuring correct grammar and spelling. I am also deeply familiar with the genre of the college application essay, and can advise students from my experience as a tutor who has worked with students on their college application essays as well as an administrator who has reviewed hundreds of grant applications for cultural non-profits. Finally, I am well-versed with a range of standardized tests, having earned an International Baccalaureate diploma and scored in the very top percentiles for the SAT and GRE.

I am a recent graduate of Brown University with a Bachelor's of Arts degree in Classics and Slavic Studies but an emphasis on theater. A lot of my time at Brown was spent serving on the board of Shakespeare on the Green, Brown's only site-specific student theater group; I even assistant directed a production of Shakespeare's "The Winter's Tale" in the Fall of my senior year. I tutor a very broad range of subjects, but my preferences lie with the liberal arts (English, writing, reading, history, etc.). That said, I also enjoy the sensation of testing myself that I experience when doing math problems: I find satisfaction in solving a problem. That applies to standardized tests, as well, which have the added bonus of being a race against time. In short: I enjoy a good challenge, and the biggest challenge out there (in my opinion) is education. Education is the pathway to intellectual curiosity which hopefully can continue to define more and more people. Seeking to understand is what makes us human after all. Outside of tutoring, I enjoy curling up by the fire with a good book and a cat, watching and talking about TV or movies, Boston sports, science-fiction, anime, running, cooking and eating food, and, of course, long walks on the beach. I am training to be a professional actor, and my goal is to one day be conversational in French, Russian, and Japanese which will either be very useful or no help at all when I set off to help colonize Mars. All jokes aside, I am very excited to begin tutoring.

I am currently completing my medical degree at Boston University School of Medicine. I plan to train as an Emergency Medicine physician. I love working with kids, teens and adults to help break down concepts and build up confidence. My favorite subjects are math and physics, and I enjoy sharing tips and strategies for standardized tests like the SAT or MCAT. I focus on building strong foundations and understanding concepts before diving into solving problems. I help my students see that, with a little guidance, they can get themselves to the answer. Together, we can make your least favorite subjects fun! My hobbies include salsa dance and googling pictures of puppies.

I am a graduate of Brown University, where I earned my B.A. in Literary Arts and Visual Arts, taking courses in a wide array of subjects ranging from contemporary American fiction to ancient Indian classics. My first teaching experience came in college when I had the privilege of creating and teaching a series of literature courses at a local community center. There are few experiences I find more enriching than facilitating a meaningful dialogue centered around great works of literature and art. While literature and art are my passion, I also tutor in variety of other subjects, including math, science, and test preparation. I currently work as a lead teacher in the after-school program at Archway Classical Academy in Phoenix.
