I am an Oklahoma certified math teacher with over 30 years of experience teaching in public schools. My experience spans all levels of math, from 7th grade to Calculus, including GED and SAT prep.

I'm definitely the most requested when it comes to the field of Mathematics! I first started tutoring when I was a sophomore in high school, but I've continued to tutor part time over the last fifteen years. I am very passionate about translating the knowledge gained in various STEM subjects into enthusiasm by others for learning through facilitated techniques.

I am excited to have the opportunity to apply my skills and knowledge with every student that I have the privilege to teach. In my 7 years of teaching AP and Honors Chemistry in the classroom, I have been able to apply real world applications to the often challenging subject matter. I create a relaxed environment where students can visualize the big picture and concepts rather than relying on memorization.

I am not teaching if a student is not learning. If a student is not learning a concept, I put into action the saying, "Try, try again." I try new explanations, new strategies, and sometimes just give it a break for a while. Many times, a student just needs to stew on the concept for a bit. Taking a break and coming back to it later often allows the student to see the problem through new eyes.

I am bi-lingual and bi-cultural. My passion is tutoring and helping students one on one. My tutoring experience includes college Spanish, GED. and helping to edit papers. I have tutored all ages from Elementary to College. I love helping my students, and I love learning right along with my clients!

I am the only person who has earned a doctoral degree in the Bassoon. When I began teaching in schools, my first job was teaching Elementary Music and Gifted and Talented classes. I am not studying or reading for personal enjoyment, I am often either writing or sharing rich conversation. Having specialized in philosophy of art, I have a passion for music and visual art and am enlivened by the artistic culture of Oklahoma City.

I am currently a 7th grade English teacher. We read many styles of literature and work with different styles of essay writing. I prep my students for state testing, and I start a foundation for ACT testing. I have previously taught 11th grade English: on-level and remedial
