I am a graduate of Faculty of Pharmacy. I received my Bachelor of Pharmaceutical sciences. Since graduation, I have traveled extensively, tutoring students for more than 13 years. While I tutor a broad range of subjects, I am most passionate about English, Science, Math and Arabic. I have reached both elementary and older students. In my experience helping struggling students for tests, we always seem to have the most fun (with remarkable advancements). I am a firm proponent of education, believing it to be absolutely necessary for an improved quality of life, and I try to impart this appreciation to all of my students.

I am dedicated to helping students progress towards their goals and learn with nobility, self discipline, endurance and with respect. Rice University, Texas A&M University, my alma maters, as well as Pat Neff Elementary, my beloved ESL campus and I believe in the importance of core values to guide learners to success. Never stop learning because life never stops teaching.
I am able to tutor a broad range of subjects, and across a wide-range of grade-levels, I am most proud of and most passionate about my work in literacy. Creating a joyful community of reading and writing - whether for an entire school, or for a small group - has provided me with my greatest sense of accomplishment (and my fondest memories!) Literacy is the KEY to unlocking future success in all subjects, and in all endeavors, and I've long been proud of the growth my students have consistently demonstrated over the years. Just this past year, the small-group pod I was leading showed TWO years of growth in reading levels - thriving, in fact, while far too many others in their in-person cohort fell behind. I look forward to helping to continue this same kind of across-the-board success for your families' scholars, as well! Can't wait!
I am a former middle-school English teacher (and former high-school French teacher). I am certified to teach English (grades 6-12), History/Government/Social Studies (grades 6-12), Psychology (grades 6-12), Health (grades PreK-12), General Music (grades PreK-12), and French (grades PreK-12). I have also taught AP French and college-level French.
I'm a certified K-4 educator with five years of classroom experience in Philadelphia public and charter schools, and I hold a LETRS certification in structured literacy. I currently teach kindergarten and coach literacy tutors across multiple schools, so I know both what good instruction looks like and how to explain it clearly to someone who's still learning. I specialize in early literacy and foundational skills, but I'm equally comfortable supporting elementary students across subjects. My approach is warm and high-expectation: I build genuine relationships with kids while holding them to real standards. I've worked with students across a wide range of needs, including emergent readers and multilingual learners. I tutor privately and love the one-on-one format. It's where I get to be most responsive to what a specific kid actually needs.
I'm a graduate of Washington University in St. Louis. I received my Bachelor of Arts in French, and minored in Film & Media Studies and Psychology. Since graduation, I have been working in Television while remaining passionate about French and helping others achieve their language learning goals. I'm a proponent of education in languages and cultures beyond one's own, as I find learning to understand and communicate with one another to be an particularly valuable and global skill. As I tutor in French Reading, Writing, Speaking, and Grammar, I strive to impart this acknowledgement and appreciation to my students.
I'm always trying to encourage more people to play with this free and easy-to-use resource for biomolecular art/education. I would love to show you how to use it in your studies (or just for fun)!

All students can learn, however, not all students learn the same way. The key to learning and the most important part of any teachers job is helping students understand how they learn best. That is what I do well.

Frequently Asked Questions
Kindergarteners typically develop letter recognition, phonemic awareness (hearing individual sounds in words), basic number sense (counting to 20), and social-emotional skills like following directions and cooperating with peers. Many students also begin writing their names and recognizing simple sight words. If your child is struggling with any of these areas, personalized 1-on-1 instruction can help build confidence and close gaps before they widen.
Many kindergarteners struggle with phonemic awareness, letter-sound correspondence, sitting still for instruction, and managing emotions during transitions. Some children also find it difficult to distinguish between letters that look similar (like 'b' and 'd') or to blend sounds into words. Personalized tutoring addresses these specific challenges with targeted practice and strategies tailored to your child's learning style, which can be especially helpful given Orlando's average classroom ratio of 16.9 students per teacher.
Varsity Tutors connects you with tutors who understand Florida's kindergarten standards and can reinforce what's being taught in your child's classroom. Whether your school district emphasizes phonics-first instruction, balanced literacy, or another approach, personalized tutoring complements classroom learning by providing extra practice, one-on-one feedback, and strategies customized to your child's pace and needs.
During the initial session, a tutor will get to know your child, assess their current skills in areas like letter recognition and counting, and understand any specific concerns you have. This helps establish a baseline and allows the tutor to create a personalized plan focused on your child's strengths and areas for growth. Subsequent sessions build on this foundation with engaging, age-appropriate activities and games.
In a classroom setting, teachers manage the needs of many students simultaneously, which limits individualized attention. Personalized 1-on-1 instruction allows a tutor to adjust pacing, repeat concepts as needed, and use teaching methods that match your child's learning style—whether they're a visual, auditory, or kinesthetic learner. This targeted approach often leads to faster skill development and greater confidence in young learners.
You'll notice progress through concrete milestones like recognizing more letters, blending sounds into simple words, counting to higher numbers, or improved behavior during learning activities. Your tutor will also share regular feedback on what your child is mastering and what areas need continued focus. Many parents also see improvements in their child's confidence, enthusiasm for learning, and willingness to tackle new challenges.
Varsity Tutors connects you with experienced tutors who have expertise in early childhood education and understand how young children learn best. Many have backgrounds in elementary education, child development, or specialized training in reading and math instruction. Each tutor is carefully matched to your child based on their experience, teaching style, and your family's specific needs.
Simply reach out to Varsity Tutors and tell us about your child's needs, learning goals, and schedule preferences. We'll match you with a tutor who's the right fit for your family. From there, you can begin personalized sessions designed to support your kindergartener's growth in reading, math, and other foundational skills at their own pace.
