What role does faith play in your life and how has it impacted your academic and future goals? Who or what else has pushed you to pursue higher education? by Walter - July 2025 Scholarship Essay

A significant part of my life is faith. Everything I do is built on it, including how I conduct myself, overcome obstacles, and pursue my objectives. I think that God has given me a purpose, and that idea serves as the foundation for everything I do. When I'm struggling, feeling anxious, worn out, or even uncertain of who I am, I turn to prayer. My faith keeps me going despite any challenges because it serves as a reminder that I'm not traveling this path alone.

Getting into the NFL is one of my main goals. I've wanted that since I was a young child, and I think it's achievable with perseverance, self-control, and faith. However, I've also established ambitions off the field since I understand that football can't last forever. I'm a college student majoring in sports management with a concentration in sports medicine because of this. Whether I work as a coach, athletic trainer, or in sports leadership, I want to create a future where I can continue to be involved in the sport I love. Even when things don't go as planned or I get disappointed, faith has helped me stay focused on that goal.

I've been fortunate to have wonderful individuals in my life who continue to pour into it. My  bishop has greatly impacted my life. He guides me in life, enables me to realize my own potential, and encourages me to put God first in everything. My parents have been very important as well. They have never stopped believing in me despite my many sacrifices. Their encouragement is invaluable, and they never fail to remind me that education is the foundation for long-term success, freedom, and possibilities.

Getting a degree is not the only reason to pursue further education. It's about showing to myself and those who support me that I take my future seriously. It's about getting ready for whatever career path God gives me and for life after football. I'm doing the work and walking on faith. I am confident that I can do great things if God, my family, and my mentors are on my side.
