Succeeding in Another Semester of Nursing School by Victoria - August 2025 Scholarship Essay

For this upcoming school year, I aspire to stay motivated as I enter my hardest semester of nursing school yet. It is going to be stressful, but I hope I take care of myself and put my mental health first. I am typically hard on myself when it comes to academics, but I hope to give myself some more grace this school year as I enter these challenging courses. I will still focus on my academics and do the absolute best I can, but I want to focus more on developing hands on experience during clinicals and taking the time to develop a deep understanding on how to provide the best care to my patients. Developing an understanding of the patient experience is a huge aspect of nursing school that often gets looked over due to the stress that comes with studying for tests and focusing on mainly academics. I hope to find a balance in working hard on my academics and focusing on understanding the patient experience during this upcoming school year. Knowing I am so close to my dream of becoming a nurse is motivating me to get through my last few semesters of nursing school. I have great support system consisting of my parents and my fellow nursing friends that keep me going when school gets challenging. I know this is going to be a great school year and I can’ wait to see where this journey takes me.
