During my 10th session with Varsity Tutor, I was working on matching the flaw stem when I encountered an answer choice that left me feeling stuck. I misread it a couple of times and, instead of pausing to gather my thoughts, I found myself rushing through it. In my eagerness to identify the flaw, I struggled to articulate my reasoning, which made it challenging to understand what the choice was truly expressing. Fortunately, my tutor provided valuable feedback, saying, "Don't dig a bigger hole that will continue to confuse you. Move on to the next question to take a breath, organize your mind, and then return to that particular answer choice." This advice had a crucial impact on my approach as I work towards success on the LSAT.

Before this intervention, I felt a strong urge to tackle every question with intense focus, often without fully understanding them. This led to misinterpretations and a failure to identify key terms critical for answer accuracy. After my tutor’s feedback, I changed my strategy. I began taking the time to read through the other answer choices before revisiting the one I was struggling with. Upon rereading it, I was able to identify similarities and important connections between the stimulus and the answer choice I had almost crossed out. This new perspective helped me realize that my initial misunderstanding had caused me to overlook the correct answer. This feedback has transformed my approach to each question stem, resulting in significant improvements during both my independent study sessions and tutoring. I am now better equipped to navigate the LSAT with confidence and clarity.
