The best study strategy that I have adopted over the years that has had the greatest impact on my academic success is staying organized and creating study sheets. I have learned that I am more of an old-school learner when it comes to studying. I still enjoy using note cards and turning them into flash cards because physically writing the information down helps me remember it better. I also like creating organized study sheets that include important terms, definitions, and information that I know I will need to remember.

Another strategy that works well for me is actually using the physical textbook. I like being able to highlight important information while I am reading and then write my own notes in a notebook. There is something about physically writing information down that helps it stick in my memory better than just reading it on a computer screen.

I also believe consistency has played a major role in my academic success. I typically study at least three times a week, and if I know I have a quiz coming up, I start studying about two weeks in advance instead of waiting until the last minute. These study methods have helped me maintain a 4.0 GPA because I give myself enough time to actually learn and retain the information rather than just memorizing it for a test.
