How Technology has Impacted My Classroom Experience by Shaima - November 2025 Scholarship Essay
Imagine walking into a classroom with no laptops, no smartphones, and no internet and just textbooks, paper, and pencil. Learning would feel harder, less exciting, and very limited. It is almost impossible to imagine a classroom without technology today. Digital devices have changed the way students learn and the way teachers teach, making classrooms more creative and full of opportunities to learn in different ways. Personally, I believe that technology in school has impacted my experience making learning more easy, fun, and unlimited. It also teaches us skills that are useful in life.
One of the biggest ways technology has improved my classroom experience is by making learning more understandable and fun. Instead of just reading text books or listening to a lecture from the teacher, I can easily go online and watch videos, examples of projects, and even play games on that topic to make it easier for myself to learn. When my teacher shows us visual examples of the things we are learning about, I can actually see how things work instead of just hearing or reading about it. It helps the information stay in my mind for a longer time. Technology has also made it easier and faster to find information. Using a text book to search for information about a topic is much harder and takes a lot of time to find, but with a computer, I can search for information and find it in seconds. It saves me a lot of time and energy.
Another way in which technology has improved my classroom experience is giving me the opportunity to find unlimited information about a certain topic. Using a textbook for a subject limits my learning about that subject to only the information within the textbook, but using the internet allows me to explore more deeply and learn from a lot of different resources and websites about anything. It also gives us the opportunity to use that information in many creative ways such as creating digital projects, creating presentations, and doing games based on the topic to make it easier for me to memorize that information.
In addition, using technology in classrooms has most importantly prepared me for the future. Almost every single job today requires people to know computer skills, and working with technology in school gives me experience ahead of time. I have learned how to type faster, created presentations using many different and creative websites, and found different programs that can help me later in my career or anything else in life.
In conclusion, using digital devices in class has improved my experience in many ways. Which includes not only making learning more easy, fun, and unlimited, but also learning skills that will prepare me for facing future challenges.
