The impact of Khan Academy by Sara - November 2025 Scholarship Essay

In a society where technology touches almost every aspect of our lives, it has emerged as one of the most effective educational tools. Khan Academy is, in my opinion, one of the main ways that technology has improved my classroom experience. It was initially presented to my class by my AP Physics teacher when we were having trouble grasping complex concepts like electrostatics and rotational motion. What started off as a simple online video quickly turned into a trustworthy learning resource that helped me and many of my classmates fully comprehend the "why" behind the calculations. Additionally, technology helps close gaps between classroom instruction and independent study. Because Khan Academy provides immediate feedback and thorough explanations, my teacher frequently assigns practice problems from it. When I make a mistake, I can quickly identify my mistake and correct it before it becomes a habit. It's similar to having a tutor on hand at all times who can clearly and simply explain things. Moreover, it relieves teachers of some of the burden, freeing them up to concentrate on class discussions and experiments rather than repeatedly giving the same explanations. Beyond helping certain students, technology such as Khan Academy has increased accessibility in education. Students everywhere, regardless of their school or background, may access the same great teachings because anyone with an internet connection can use it for free. It develops qualities that follow you outside of class, such as independence and perseverance. To conclude, technology has changed how both teachers and students learn. Gaining the confidence to take on challenging topics and learn in methods that actually work for us is more important than simply watching videos or taking online tests. I no longer view technology as merely a tool; it has developed into a teacher, leading me to comprehension, improvement, and a greater interest in studying.
