From a young age, I knew that most things in school came very easy to me. I was the person who never really had to take the time to study to succeed. This caused me to never focus on which learning strategy was best for me. This all changed when I entered high school.

High school showed me that I was never meant to be great at everything and some things were not going to come easily like they always had. This forced me to learn myself and what works best for me. The study strategy that worked best for me was hands on learning. This especially applied to how I did in math. Listening to the teacher explain the concept never worked for me, I needed to sit down with them while I did the steps by myself and actively practice what I was learning. This was the only way that I was able to be confident in my skills. Hands on learning really changed how I lived my life, not only in school but through my personal life as well. I was able to release stress from school when I learned to quickest and best way for me to learn. No more late nights awake, which allowed me to perform my best academically.
