Life Goals by Reuben - August 2025 Scholarship Essay

I hope this message finds you well. My name is Reuben Jeremiah Johnson, and I am a recent graduate of Mullins High School. I will attend Anderson University in the Fall and pursue a degree in Coding: Game Development . I am writing to respectfully request your consideration for scholarship support to help me continue my educational journey.
My love for gaming has always been more than just a hobby—it’s been a passion that has inspired me. Through this program, I aim to gain a deep understanding of not only game design and development but also crucial technological skills such as coding, computer science, and information technology. I want to use my education not only to entertain but also to educate and inspire others through the games I create.
One of my ultimate goals is to own my own game development company, where I can design inspirational and meaningful games that go beyond traditional entertainment. To reach that dream, I plan to build a solid foundation in computer systems and how they operate. I intend to use this knowledge to secure a career in the information technology field, which will help fund my journey toward entrepreneurship.
Receiving this scholarship would not only ease the burden of educational expenses, but it would also empower me to focus fully on my studies, engage in leadership and service opportunities, and continue striving toward my goals with excellence and integrity.
