When I first took statistics, I thought it was just a class full of confusing formulas and numbers. I had a hard time understanding why we used different equations and what the answers actually meant. Even though I studied, I often felt frustrated because I couldn't see how statistics connected to real life. At first, I wondered if I would ever understand the subject. Instead of giving up, I decided to change the way I studied. I asked my teacher more questions, watched videos that explained the lessons in different ways, and practiced extra problems outside of class. Little by little, I stopped memorizing formulas and started understanding the ideas behind them. I realized that statistics is really about using data to answer questions, solve problems, and make smart decisions.

As I became more confident, I started enjoying the challenge of analyzing information and finding patterns. Statistics showed me that math and science could be used to solve real-world problems in areas like healthcare, sports, and business. It opened my eyes to how important data is in everyday life and sparked my interest in STEM. That experience played a big role in my decision to pursue a STEM major because I wanted to continue learning how to use these tools to make a difference. Learning statistics also improved my critical thinking skills. Instead of believing every number or graph I saw, I learned to ask questions like where the data came from, if it was reliable, and whether the conclusions actually made sense. These skills helped me in other classes because I started thinking more carefully before making decisions or solving problems.

Looking back, statistics went from being one of my hardest subjects to one of the most rewarding. It taught me that struggling with something doesn't mean I can't succeed. By staying patient, asking for help, and practicing, I became more confident in my abilities. Most importantly, it showed me that challenges can lead to new opportunities. What started as my most difficult class ended up inspiring my passion for STEM and giving me the confidence to pursue a future built on problem-solving and innovation.
