Freshman Ambitions by Rachael - August 2025 Scholarship Essay

I have finally graduated high school, and I am beyond excited to start college. I have reflected on the four years I was in high school, and consequently have decided what I will do differently in college to maximize my experience. With this next big chapter in my life, I have decided that I will become more involved with my campus community and participate as much as possible in every day activities. In high school I was very active in sports, and I wished that I could participate in more of the school's social aspect, however, my sport took up too much time leaving little to spare for socializing outside of my sport. From what I have heard, college is a place that is filled with student life and community activities filling each day with something fun. I plan to volunteer more to help the community, and make many life long friends. The best way I plan to do this is through joining clubs, participating in all campus events, and working at a part time job. I am an extroverted person and therefore I thrive on spending time with others. What I hope to achieve is a community, and a place like home.
