Writing was the academic skill that I have struggled with the most. I believe that it was due to the fact that I had to learn a whole new language and grammar. It was full of new rules and thermology that would confuse any person learning a language. I struggled the most with figuring out why certain structures were correct, and others were not. It got to the point where I would insert the words and choose whichever one sounded correct. The turning point for me was seeing my classmates understanding and using the proper grammar; I could use it while talking but never while writing. After my moving-up ceremony, going from 5th grade to 6th grade, I made the decision to go fresh into the new school year. Over the summer I had grammar games on my phone and a packet I got from my teacher, which I would practice every day, and the kick is that it was not just about grammar; I was practicing everything. And in my first year of middle school, I only had A’s and B’s, with even one semester being only A’s. It was a dream come true, because I got to prove to myself and everyone that there was more to me and that I would go somewhere in life.
