Tech the Best by Natasha - November 2025 Scholarship Essay

Technology has significantly improved my experience in the classroom. Before digital tools became a regular part of school, most assignments were completed on paper. That process was often time consuming and stressful. I had to keep track of physical worksheets, write everything by hand, and make sure my handwriting was clear enough to be graded. If I misplaced a paper or forgot it at home, there was no way to recover it. That added pressure made learning feel more frustrating than productive.

Paper assignments also required a lot of attention to formatting details. I had to remember rules about spacing, margins, and titles, which sometimes felt more important than the actual content. I often spent more time making sure my work looked correct than thinking deeply about the subject. It made school feel rigid and less engaging.

When technology became more integrated into the classroom, everything changed for the better. I could type my assignments, organize my files digitally, and submit work online. This helped me stay more organized and reduced the stress of keeping track of physical materials. If I needed help, I could search for information online or contact my teacher through school platforms. Group projects also became easier thanks to shared documents and virtual collaboration tools.

Digital learning tools helped me understand material more effectively. Watching educational videos, using interactive websites, and accessing online notes allowed me to learn at my own pace. I no longer felt stuck or behind. Instead of focusing on formatting, I could concentrate on the actual content and ideas.

Overall, technology has made my classroom experience more efficient, flexible, and supportive. It has helped me stay on top of assignments, learn more independently, and feel more confident in my work. While traditional methods may still work for some students, I believe technology has created a better learning environment for me and many others.
