A skill I hope to master in the next few years is public speaking and effective communication. As someone who wants to become a lawyer, the ability to express ideas clearly, persuade others, and connect with people is essential. Strong communication will allow me to advocate for clients, present cases confidently, and inspire change in my community.

To develop this skill, I plan to take every opportunity to practice and improve. I want to join debate clubs, leadership programs, and public speaking workshops to practice organizing my thoughts, speaking with clarity, and thinking on my feet. Participating in these programs will help me build confidence and learn how to handle challenging questions or situations.

I also plan to seek feedback from teachers, mentors, and peers to refine my delivery, tone, and pacing. Recording myself while practicing speeches will allow me to reflect on my body language, clarity, and overall effectiveness. This self-evaluation will help me identify strengths and areas that need improvement.

Beyond technique, I want to learn how to connect with audiences on an emotional level. Communication is more than words—it’s about showing empathy, sincerity, and understanding. Developing this ability will allow me to inspire others, advocate effectively, and make a real impact.

By combining practice, mentorship, self-reflection, and emotional awareness, I aim to become a confident, persuasive, and empathetic communicator. Mastering this skill will not only help me succeed as a lawyer but also allow me to create meaningful change in my community.
