Entrepreneurship should be a required class because it offers critical life skills like problem solving, creativity, resilience, and decision making. An education on entrepreneurship is more than just learning how to start a business. This prepares students for success in any career field. Equipping students with these resources will allow them to exceed a quick changing job market.
A key benefit to having an entrepreneurship is it introduces problem-solving. Entrepreneurs learn to approach problems with innovative thinking skills and solutions, a skill important to all professions. This also introduces financial literacy. It will introduce budgeting skills and investment that will teach students on how to make the most informed and empowering financial decisions.
Surpassing the surface level knowledge, entrepreneurship creates communication skills and leadership skills. Students will learn how to suggest ideas and effectively present them. When building these ideas it teaches the students how to be resilient and use their problem solving skills when presented with issues while developing their ideas. It also teaches them how to embrace failure as a learning opportunity and being able to preserve.
With the workforce changing everyday this entrepreneurship program promotes the ability for students to be able to make opportunities for themselves instead waiting for opportunities to be made for them.
