Goals and Aspirations by Madi - August 2025 Scholarship Essay

My aspirations for the upcoming school year are to stay on top of my work, no matter how hard it gets. As a cybersecurity major, I know it is going to be tough, and I know that things will be hard in the beginning and throughout my math classes because that is not my strongest subject. In the end, all that matters is that I persevere through any challenging work that may come my way and know that it will all be worth it in the end. I plan to do this by going to all of my professor's office hours whenever I need them, getting a tutor so that I'm not falling behind in math, making sure I carve out time to study when I know I need to, and always staying on top of my work no matter how much it is. I know that the only way I will come into college successfully is if I have a strong head on my shoulders, because I might get distracted by the atmosphere and the new scenery of life. Another aspiration I have Is to make the University of Alabama dance team. I tried out last year and did not get in. I plan to go to all the University of Alabama's dance clinics, train privately with a dance instructor, and make sure that I am constantly working on my skills so that I know I will have what it takes to make the team. If I stay on top of my goals and work hard for what I want, I know I will have a successful first year of college.
