Charity & success by Logan - March 2026 Scholarship Essay

I believe that true leadership begins with a willingness to support others in need or less fortunate. Simply stated, service is more than a responsibility. Whether through volunteering or simply offering help and time where it is needed, I consistently seek opportunities to make a positive impact on my community. I do not seek to help one person - rather groups is what propels me.

I am currently the founding member of the Hoodies for the Homeless chapter in Boca Raton, Florida and I continue to enjoy the years-long privilege and honor of spending time throughout high school as a leader with TOPSoccer, an organization that uses sports (in this case, soccer), to work with people with developmental disorders and physical disabilities.

One day in my prospective professional career I strive to be an executive with the National Hockey League or one of its franchises. To this end, I believe that coupling my years of working with those less fortunate with a high-powered worldwide organization well known for its charitable work, will allow me to not only achieve personal success but continue my years of charitable work. Indeed, my leadership skills have been put to the test to best serve these individuals and the community as a whole. I strongly believe that my years of service will continue going forward and by associating myself with a company like the NHL -- that not only cares about profits but also the needs of others -- will result in an ongoing life of service and fulfillment.
