Usually, when asked about my aspirations for the upcoming school year, I would say better academics or studying more, but this year is different. I'm entering my first year of college, and it is a pre-life trial. In high school, I was not the real me, more of a follower who never had her own identity. This school year, I want to branch out, find out who I am behind the academics, behind the relentless hours of studying to get the best grade in class. I couldn't even tell you what my favorite color is because I mainly wear basic colored clothes due to being in sports. When you're up at 5 am every day for a 3-hour practice before school, then taking all Honors Classes, studying, and even more practice after it, it takes a toll on you, not just physically but mentally. You lose your sense of humanity; no human should live to just suffer and work themselves. So I want to explore, I want to be a college kid and have my fun. I think the true motivator is not even a person or a thing; it's the amount of free time I will have in college because of all the work I did in high school. I'm ahead by a whole year and able to have a simple, breezy schedule for my first term. I've never had so much time on my hands, so it will be an adjustment, but it's something I want to achieve, not for anyone else but for myself.
