Aspirations and motivations for my upcoming school year of college by Lana - August 2025 Scholarship Essay

As I step into the upcoming school year of college, my aspirations are rooted in both my academic and personal achievements as a freshman going into the university of Louisiana at Monroe pursuing a degree in dental hygiene is my primary goal. I would love to build a strong foundation in my field of study and inspire to excel in my coursework and develop a deep understanding of oral health sciences, and gain hands-on experience through my training. I want to position myself not as a student who passes our classes, but one who actively speaks knowledge and challenges myself and rises above the academic requirements. One of my key goals this year is to maintain a high gpa. What motivates me to achieve these aspirations is my deep passion for healthcare and helping others. I’ve always been drawn to the idea of making people feel confident in their smiles and educating them on the importance of oral hygiene. The passion goes stronger as I research more and more on the dental field and seeing the impact that proper care and education can have on someone’s life and I want to be a part of that change. In addition, the support I’ve received from my family mentors and generous donors like you fuels my drive to succeed, knowing that someone believes in my potential enough to invest in my education is incredibly inspiring and motivates me to not only work hard for myself, but also to honor that support by giving my best effort in everything I do. The school year is more than just another academic chapter in my life. It’s a launching point for a lifelong career built on service and hard work. I’m committed to using every opportunity challenge and lesson to be growing professional who makes a difference.
