This fall, my biggest goal is to complete my Business Certificate, which is the next step on my path toward earning a BFA in Creative Writing. As a single mother, returning to school hasn’t been easy, but it has been one of the most meaningful decisions I’ve made. My daughter motivates me every single day. I want to show her that it’s never too late to follow your dreams, and that hard work and passion can go hand in hand.
While creative writing is where my heart lies, I’ve come to deeply value the power of understanding the business side of the arts. Whether I’m producing a show, helping to publish a book, or launching on another creative venture, I want to be equipped with the tools to do it successfully and sustainably. The Business Certificate will give me the foundation I need to manage projects, make smart financial decisions, and build a future that supports both my artistic goals and my family.
This journey is about more than just getting a degree. It’s about creating a life where I can thrive as both a mother and a creative professional. I’m determined to keep pushing forward, not just for myself, but for my daughter’s future too.
