Aspirations for the Upcoming School Year by Kiera - August 2025 Scholarship Essay

As I enter my senior year of high school, my aspirations are rooted in growth—academically, personally, and as a leader in my community. This year represents more than just a final chapter; it’s the launching point for my future. I am motivated by the desire to challenge myself, make a lasting impact, and prepare for the life I envision beyond high school.

Academically, my goal is to maintain my 4.0 GPA while taking on rigorous coursework that pushes me to think critically and manage my time effectively. I want to continue participating actively in National Honor Society, Key Club, Bible Club, and AVID, where I not only learn from others but also contribute my voice and ideas. As Treasurer of NHS, I plan to lead fundraising initiatives that benefit local causes and strengthen our chapter’s presence in the community.

Outside the classroom, I aspire to grow as a student-athlete. Being involved in cross country, basketball, and softball has taught me discipline, teamwork, and resilience. This year, I want to serve as a role model for younger athletes—showing them that with commitment and heart, anything is possible. My goal is to push myself to new athletic limits while encouraging others to do the same.

One of my biggest personal goals is to continue building my confidence and finding balance. I’ve always been someone who wants to do it all—work, school, sports, volunteering—but I’ve learned that growth doesn’t come from being overwhelmed. It comes from setting priorities and staying true to your values. I hope to model this mindset for my peers, especially those who feel pressure to be “perfect.” I want to show them that excellence isn’t about never failing—it’s about learning from those failures and moving forward with strength.

What motivates me most is the future I’m working toward. I’m passionate about pursuing a career in business—possibly sports business or finance—and I know that the habits, experiences, and relationships I build this year will shape the person I become. I’m driven by a vision of myself not only succeeding professionally but also giving back to others and making a difference in the world. Whether I’m mentoring a teammate, helping a customer at Shortstops, or planning a community service project, I want every interaction to reflect kindness, purpose, and leadership.

This school year, I’m not just chasing achievements—I’m chasing growth. I’m motivated by the opportunity to step into who I am becoming and to leave a positive mark on my school, my community, and ultimately, the world around me.
