Every Voice Matters: Leading by Listening by Kason - December 2025 Scholarship Essay

So, if I were elected as a student body president, I would not only lead but also listen, amplify, and empower every voice in our school. The number one way that I would like to make a difference in our school is by giving every student a voice and a chance to make a difference.

I would like to start “Student Voice Initiative” where students are able to suggest projects, share issues, and work with school administration to implement their suggestions. From workshops organized by students to mentoring, it would be a simple matter of providing students with opportunities to develop their dream school. I would also start an event every quarter where students are honored for their accomplishments in either academics, arts, sports, and personal development. This way, all types of talents would be acknowledged.

Being a defensive back for our school's varsity football team has taught me that being a leader means being an advocate for your brothers and sisters in arms even in the most trying of circumstances. Being a journalist and a content creator for my own YouTube channel has shown me that communication, creativity, and consistent effort can move people. I look forward to applying all of this in my role in our school government.

I would like our school to be a place where students not only attend but also thrive, contribute, and make their presence felt. I would work day and night to make this a reality if I were elected, illustrating that it’s not about titles, it’s about making a difference.
