Driven by Justice: My Aspiration to Learn and Serve by Karizma - August 2025 Scholarship Essay

As I look ahead to the upcoming school year, one of my biggest aspirations is to deepen my understanding of the criminal justice system and how it impacts real lives. I want to not only succeed academically, but also take steps toward becoming a well-rounded, compassionate professional in the field. This includes staying focused in my classes, seeking out internships or volunteer opportunities that give me real-world experience, and connecting with professors and mentors who can help guide my journey.
My motivation comes from a deep desire for self-stability and independence. I want to build a life where I can stand on my own two feet—both financially and emotionally. Education is my way of gaining the tools and confidence I need to do that. Coming from a background where stability wasn't always guaranteed, I’ve learned the value of hard work and determination. I’m driven by the vision of creating a secure future for myself, while also working toward a career where I can advocate for justice and help others find fairness and safety in their own lives.
I believe this year is a stepping stone toward something much bigger. I’m not just earning a degree in criminal justice—I’m building a foundation for a life of purpose, independence, and meaningful impact.
