This past year has been full of growth, resilience, and determination, as well as academic challenges. After graduating from high school in 2023, I decided to pursue my dream of studying abroad in Athens, Greece. While the experience broadened my worldview and added to my academic knowledge, the financial burden it created was significant. Unfortunately, this required much of my attention, so I decided to take a year away from school so I could work, save, and prepare for the next stage of my education.
During this time, I took a step back to reflect on both my academic and career goals. My original plan was to pursue a premedical degree; however, I realized the importance of balancing ambition with financial responsibility. This led to my financial decision to enroll in an online nursing program, a chance to focus on my goal of a medical career, while providing the flexibility to maintain employment and improve my financial stability.
This academic year, I am committed to excelling in my coursework to keep a consistent GPA of 3.5 or higher, while also developing financial decision-making skills. Through self-reflection, perseverance, and strategic planning, I am building a solid foundation for my future in healthcare. Receiving this scholarship would be a crucial step in allowing me to continue my education without added financial strain.
