• The Lesson I Didn’t Know I Needed by Indea - July 2025 Scholarship Essay

If I could give one piece of advice to my past self, it would be to slow down and truly enjoy the journey. Throughout college, I was constantly focused on the next goal finishing my bachelor’s degree as quickly as possible so I could move on to my master’s program. While I remained motivated and driven, I often rushed through the moments that mattered most. I didn’t always take time to reflect, to celebrate small wins, or to fully appreciate how far I had come.Looking back, I realize that I missed out on so many meaningful experiences by being so future focused. I formed amazing friendships, met inspiring professors, and was part of a campus community that offered endless opportunities for growth but I didn’t always allow myself to be present. I was too busy thinking about the next assignment, the next exam, or the next step in my academic path. If I could do it again, I’d remind myself that success isn’t just about how fast you finish it’s also about the memories you make, the people you meet, and the personal growth that happens along the way. Every chapter matters, and it’s okay to pause and soak it all
