One of the greatest learning strategies I have learned is to practice beyond what is required. Growing up, my parents taught me that if a teacher assigned only the odd-numbered problems, I should complete both the odd- and even-numbered problems. At first, it felt like I was giving myself extra work. However, I eventually realized that the additional problems gave me more opportunities to understand the material, learn from my mistakes, and feel confident before an exam.

This strategy has helped me become a stronger and more disciplined student. It also taught me the importance of taking initiative in my education. Success is not always about completing the bare minimum. Sometimes, going above and beyond is necessary to become the best version of yourself and achieve the goals you have set. The extra effort may not always produce immediate results, but it builds habits that can make a difference over time.

As I begin this new chapter as a master’s student, I plan to continue using this strategy whenever I can. It is a lesson I will carry throughout my education and career, and I hope to pass it on to my own children when I become a parent someday.
