The tutor who never sleeps by Grace - November 2025 Scholarship Essay
The tutor who never sleeps has become my secret weapon in the classroom, and it’s most feared among many.
Within the constant evolution of artificial intelligence, it’s often viewed through a negative lens, particularly in education. Many view AI as a shortcut rather than a tool, a means to complete an assignment faster rather than to understand it more deeply. However, I believe that artificial intelligence, when used intentionally, can transform the way we learn. In college, when our education is at its most formative, AI should be embraced not as a replacement for effort but as a catalyst for curiosity, creativity, and mastery.
As a high school student, I’ve taught myself how to make AI my academic partner instead of my academic crutch. In my business law class, for example, I use it to clarify complex legal terminology and generate mnemonic devices that make abstract concepts easier to remember. Once I’ve grasped the material, I ask AI to generate custom practice exams with multiple-choice, scenario-based, and short-answer questions. This process reinforces not only my comprehension but also my confidence, allowing me to approach each test knowing I’ve engaged with the material from every angle.
To me, learning opportunities and extracurriculars are a blank canvas. Artificial intelligence, like a vibrant palette of paint, allows each experience to flourish and take on new dimensions. As the artist behind the brush, I bring the vision by deciding what to create, how to grow, and where to improve. AI simply enhances my technique, guiding my strokes toward clarity and precision. In college, I plan to use it as a tool to map out my academic journey, strengthen my study habits, and explore new intersections between law, business, and technology.
