For the upcoming school year, I am dedicated to growing within my major and my capabilities. I was recently admitted into my major of choice, which is chemical and biomolecular engineering. With this recent development, I plan on becoming more involved in targeted academic communities on campus, such as the Black Engineering Society and Women in Engineering. I am motivated by my desire to gain professional connections, connect with peers who have common interests, and gain access to opportunities and spaces that I was not previously in. I am also excited to make greater use of the resources and opportunities on campus that aren't as academic as joining clubs and attending more events. In particular, boxing and martial arts, hiking, and crochet. My motivation towards doing all this is the saying that "closed mouths don't get fed”. I have often missed out on opportunities because I was too scared to ask. I believe that in order to grow into an individual who has experience and capabilities, I have to take the initiative and be willing to seek help. Moreover, I aim to fully embrace my college experience by exploring every opportunity available and being eager and audacious in meeting and engaging with the diverse community on campus.
