If I could design a project to improve my school community at Howard University, I would focus on making the university more affordable, accessible, and student-centered. Howard is a historic institution that has shaped generations of leaders, artists, and professionals, and I believe investing in students' daily experiences would make the university even stronger.

One of the first areas I would address is tuition costs. Many students, including myself, face financial challenges while pursuing higher education. Reducing tuition or increasing financial assistance opportunities would help relieve the burden on students and their families. This would allow more students to focus on their academic and professional goals rather than worrying about how they will afford their education each semester.

I would also prioritize improving and renovating student dormitories. Students spend a significant amount of time in their residence halls, and they should feel safe, comfortable, and supported in their living environments. Updating facilities, improving maintenance, and creating more modern spaces would positively impact student well-being and overall campus life.

Another important focus would be communication between the university and students. Many students become frustrated when important information about housing, financial aid, registration, or campus events is not communicated clearly or promptly. I would work to create more efficient communication systems so students can stay informed and have their concerns addressed more quickly.

In addition, I would seek to bring more dining options to and around campus. Students often have busy schedules filled with classes, rehearsals, meetings, and jobs. Having a wider variety of affordable and healthy food options would improve student life and provide more convenient choices throughout the day.

Finally, I would work to make transportation more accessible for everyone. Expanding shuttle services, increasing transportation routes, and creating safer options for students traveling around Washington, D.C., would help students get to classes, internships, jobs, and other opportunities more efficiently.

Overall, my project would focus on improving affordability, housing, communication, dining, and transportation. By addressing these areas, Howard University could create a stronger and more supportive environment where students are able to thrive academically, professionally, and personally. Investing in students' needs today will help ensure that future generations of Howard students have the resources and opportunities they need to succeed.
