My uncle has been my biggest inspiration. My sister and I haven't had the best relationship growing up. As twins people expect you to be the same and become best friends. My mom always favored her the most. For example when I bought my own phone my mom bought her one the next day, then when I bought my own pair of Nike shoes she ordered her some too. I felt like I wasn't being seen, like she was getting things easily while I had to do the work. I started becoming more independent and started keeping things to myself. I was doing everything to prove myself more

My uncle started noticing how I would keep all my emotions bottled up. He noticed that I started being independent, and I would never ask for help. That’s when he asked “can one hand wash both your hands” the answer being no. He taught me it’s okay to be independent but sometimes I need to ask for help. That has stuck with me because I’ve kept things to myself and was against the idea of therapy. I thought therapy wasn’t beneficial. The trauma I went through growing up I was ashamed to tell anybody because I thought they’d judge. Realizing this makes me want to go and talk to a therapist. I’m planning once I turn 18 since that’s when I officially become an adult.
