My Aspirations and Motivation for the Upcoming School Year by Ethan - August 2025 Scholarship Essay

As I prepare for the upcoming school year at the University of Louisville, my aspirations are focused on academic growth, personal development, and community impact. I am a Business Administration major, and I aim to fully engage in my coursework while also gaining practical experience that will prepare me for a future in entrepreneurship and community leadership. This year, I want to balance my education with hands-on learning opportunities that allow me to apply my skills in real-world settings.

One of my key aspirations is to maintain a strong academic record by staying consistent and organized in my studies. I am motivated by a desire to honor the sacrifices my family has made for my education and by my own determination to overcome the challenges I have faced in the past. As a childhood cancer survivor, I have learned to value perseverance and resilience. Every semester represents another opportunity to push forward, grow, and pursue the life I once wasn’t sure I would have.

Another aspiration I have for the year is to expand my involvement in campus and community programs. I plan to volunteer and participate in initiatives that allow me to give back, particularly in youth mentorship and wellness programs. I believe that community engagement builds strong leadership skills and keeps me grounded in the values that motivate me: helping others and making a positive impact wherever I can.

I am also motivated by a long-term dream to launch my own martial arts-based wellness program for children, especially those battling illness. Each class I attend and each concept I learn in business school brings me closer to turning that dream into a reality. My motivation comes from envisioning the day I can create a safe, inspiring environment for children who need hope and encouragement, just as I once did.

In conclusion, my aspirations for the upcoming school year are rooted in academic excellence, personal growth, and meaningful community involvement. I am motivated by my past experiences, my family’s support, and the future I am working toward. By staying disciplined and driven, I believe I can achieve these goals and continue building the foundation for a career and life dedicated to both personal success and helping others.
