Technology's Positive Impact by Erinn - November 2025 Scholarship Essay

I believe technology has positively impacted my classroom experience by creating ways that are more suitable for me to understand, in comparison to 90-minute-long lectures, where little to nothing resonates with me. For example, in a few of my classes, I've had a hard time understanding specific topics, and tools like Varsity Tutors and YouTube help fill gaps when my teachers aren't available. In addition, in this day and age, technology is advancing heavily and generations such as mine rely solely on technology in classrooms. Some of the most impactful tools that I've noticed in class include laptops, which I use to submit assignments and access resources, and projectors, which teachers use on a day to day basis to present presentations and assignments to the class. Google Docs has also been a great way for my peers and I to conduct in online collaboration. It allows my classmates and me to work on group projects simultaneously, even when we are not physically together.
Personally, technology has taught me to be more independent and resourceful. When I struggle with a concept, I know how to search for reliable resources or watch tutorials that can explain it in a way that clicks. To conclude, I believe that technology offers flexibility for students with different learning styles or needs. From audio versions of texts, captioned videos, or adjustable screen settings, technology provides a way for anyone to learn.
