my school year by Erin - August 2025 Scholarship Essay

For the upcoming school year, I am determined to push myself both academically and personally. One of my biggest aspirations is to maintain a strong GPA while taking on more challenging coursework that aligns with my interest in science and engineering. I plan to be more proactive in seeking out academic support, whether through tutoring, study groups, or one-on-one time with my teachers. This year, I want to make sure I'm not just passing my classes—I want to truly understand the material and apply it in meaningful ways.
Outside of academics, I’m excited to get more involved in extracurricular activities, especially those that allow me to grow as a leader and as a future chemical engineer. Whether it’s joining a STEM club, mentoring younger students, or volunteering in my community, I want to use my time to make an impact. I also plan to look for internship or shadowing opportunities that can give me real-world exposure to chemical engineering.

What motivates me most is my vision for the future. I see myself working in a chemical plant one day, helping create solutions that make the world safer and cleaner. That dream—and the support of my family—keeps me going. I know that with dedication, discipline, and a positive mindset, I can make this school year my best one yet.
