Not Just A Single Voice. by Elecktra - November 2025 Scholarship Essay

During many students' first couple of years in high school they struggle to find a voice, determine where they belong and wonder how they could get one single voice to make an impact among other people. This is one of the biggest things that students wonder when entering a new school, how can they express their opinion without being told they're wrong. The best way to make a positive impact as student body president as well as helping guide the students of that graduating class is to ensure they are heard, not just telling them to vote but hearing what they have to say about why they voted for a specific idea, item or event. I know having someone tell me I was okay to be open about my opinions would have helped me be more involved, enjoy my high school experience and feel free to develop opinions on higher upper matters. Being elected student body president is one of the most important things to help students express themselves and actually enjoy their high school experience. That's why my biggest priority when running for this position would be ensuring that students are able to express themselves and opinions in the matters of their class. No matter the simplicity of the issue if it has relations to their graduating class it is ensured they have a voice in the matter.
