Cards Connect by Devin - June 2026 Scholarship Essay

If I could design a project to improve my school community at the University of Louisville, I would create a program called Cards Connect. The purpose of this project would be to help students build stronger connections with other students, faculty, alumni, and campus organizations so that no one feels like they have to navigate college on their own.

Many students come to college without knowing anyone, and it can be difficult to find the right people, resources, or opportunities. Cards Connect would bring everything together in one place. Students could connect with mentors, find study groups, join clubs and organizations that match their interests, and learn about internships, part-time jobs, and career opportunities. The program would also host networking events where students could meet professionals, alumni, and other students who share similar goals.

I would focus on this project because I believe connections are one of the most important parts of college. Having the right support system can make a huge difference in a student's success both academically and personally. When students feel connected, they are more likely to get involved on campus, stay motivated, and take advantage of opportunities that can help them grow.

This project would help create a stronger sense of community at the University of Louisville. It would ensure that every student has access to support, friendships, and opportunities that can help them succeed in college and beyond. By bringing people together, Cards Connect would make the university a more welcoming and supportive place for everyone.
