I envision myself eventually running my own practice, working behind the desk, managing operations, and continuing to develop my administrative skills while generating revenue. Administrative support has always appealed to me because it allows me to assist multiple departments through tasks such as basic bookkeeping, payroll processing, and onboarding new hires.
An office environment functions as the central nerve center of any business. It is where information is processed, decisions are supported, and communication flows internally and externally. These functions — data management, operational decision making, and communication — are essential to keeping an organization running smoothly.
As I think about my long term goals, I see myself working within or eventually owning an employment agency. Employment agencies play a vital role in society by connecting companies with qualified workers, coordinating interviews, and supporting workforce development. They allow individuals to exercise their employment abilities while helping businesses meet their staffing needs.
As a junior in college majoring in Industrial Organizational Psychology, I am developing the skills needed to work in human resources within major distribution companies, hospitals, or employment agencies. My coursework is preparing me to understand workplace behavior, improve organizational systems, and support employee success.
With outstanding tuition at another college, the $2,500 award would help me continue my education at my current institution and move closer to completing my degree. This support would directly contribute to my long term goal of building a career in human resourcets and eventually establishing my own employment focused practice.
