State Champion by Dax - November 2019 Scholarship Essay
Being a student athlete has always been my goal, but winning the 4A state baseball championship seemed like only a dream.
May 25, 2019 was a day I’ll never forget.
As I earned the title my junior year of team captain, all state first team pitcher and first base. I didn’t think it could get any better in my baseball career, we were headed to state for my high school’s only time since 1981. I was so proud to see so many students, teachers, friends, family, and administration come out to watch my team successfully win the title of state Champions 2019.
I feel that I have earned not only a state championship title, but a title of being a role model to my student body.
Being a state champion comes with not only hard work and dedication on the field, but in the classroom as well. I try to work hard on my grades and stay involved in my school community supporting my little brother and my friends. I’m always willing to help my peers in the classroom or on the field. I have also volunteered reffing basketball and football to younger kids.
To be a champion makes me proud of myself too, as I am looking forward to a collegiate opportunity to play baseball at Gonzaga University.
Please consider me to receive funds to help me further my academic career.
