When I enrolled in Pre-Calculus, I knew it would be one of the hardest classes I had ever taken. Math had always come naturally to me, but Pre-Calculus introduced concepts that were much more complex than anything I had studied before. Functions, trigonometric identities, and logarithms often felt overwhelming, and there were times when I struggled to understand how everything connected. At first, I became frustrated because I was used to finding the right answer quickly, but this class taught me that real learning requires patience and persistence.

Instead of becoming discouraged, I changed the way I approached the subject. I spent extra time reviewing my notes, practicing problems, asking questions when I didn't understand something, and learning from my mistakes. Rather than memorizing formulas, I focused on understanding why the formulas worked and how they could be applied to different situations. Breaking complicated problems into smaller steps helped me recognize patterns and build confidence with each assignment.

As the year went on, I realized that Pre-Calculus was teaching me much more than mathematics. It strengthened my critical thinking skills by forcing me to analyze problems from different angles instead of rushing to a solution. I learned to evaluate multiple strategies, recognize relationships between concepts, and think logically before making decisions. These skills have helped me not only in other academic subjects but also in everyday life.

Pre-Calculus also taught me the importance of perseverance. There were many times when I didn't get the answer right on my first attempt, but I discovered that mistakes are opportunities to learn. Instead of viewing challenges as failures, I began to see them as part of the learning process. That change in mindset gave me greater confidence in my ability to overcome obstacles, both inside and outside the classroom.

This experience has strengthened my desire to pursue a degree in Computer Science. Technology requires analytical thinking, problem-solving, and the ability to approach complex situations with patience and determination. The lessons I learned in Pre-Calculus have prepared me for those challenges and have given me the confidence to tackle difficult problems without giving up.

Although Pre-Calculus was one of the most challenging courses I have taken, it ultimately became one of the most rewarding. It transformed the way I think, improved my ability to solve problems, and showed me that growth often comes from stepping outside of my comfort zone. Those lessons will continue to guide me throughout college and in my future career.
